With a job description
The analysis extracts technical requirements and compares them with normalized resume text using a defined synonym list. It does not cover every soft skill, responsibility, or eligibility requirement. A non-technical posting may not yield useful technical terms.
Without a job description
The AI reviews extracted text for common criteria such as contact details, sections, work history, and specific achievements. It cannot confirm every visual layout detail or reproduce every employer's parser from text alone.

Missing wording or missing experience?
If your resume says "built backend services" and you actually developed REST APIs, naming the API work can make the evidence clearer. If the posting asks for Kubernetes and you have not used it, do not add it as a skill. A better score cannot substitute for experience.
When to use an ATS check
- Before sending a new PDF, check that text can be extracted and key sections are present.
- For a technical role, review whether the tools you genuinely used are clearly documented.
- After revising a resume, compare the document and suggestions rather than treating score changes as proof of fit.
For parsing errors, try a fresh text-based export. For network or analysis errors, use the same check action to retry. Follow the displayed error and wait if the endpoint reports a rate limit.

Can I use this ATS checker without signing in?
Yes. The public checker accepts a resume PDF and an optional job description without an account. A fair-use rate limit applies; if you reach it, wait a minute before retrying.
Which files can I upload?
Upload a PDF under 5 MB. The checker extracts text from the PDF in your browser. Image-only or scanned PDFs may not contain enough readable text for analysis; export a text-based PDF if extraction fails.
What happens to my PDF during the check?
The page extracts text in your browser and sends that text, along with any job description, to the analysis endpoint. This upload flow does not send the original PDF file or save it as a dashboard resume. Review the privacy policy before submitting sensitive information.
What does the score measure?
With a sufficiently detailed job description, the score measures detected technical keyword coverage using normalized text and a defined synonym list. Without one, the tool provides an AI review of common resume-text criteria. Neither mode predicts an employer decision or guarantees ATS acceptance.
Should I add all missing keywords?
No. Add a keyword only when you have genuine experience to support it. A missing term may be unclear wording, a text-extraction issue, or a real experience gap. Review your source resume before making changes.
How is the checker different from AI Tailor?
