About the Team We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Backend Senior Software Engineer (Node.js / API) to join the Digital Business Banking team. This team is responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services supporting payments, onboarding, and money movement workflows. As an Engineer, you will drive API strategy, and ensure delivery of robust, cloud-native microservices aligned with enterprise banking platforms. What You Will Be Doing Technical Leadership & Architecture • Own the end-to-end backend design, and implementation of scalable API-driven systems. • Lead development using Node.js, TypeScript, and microservices architecture. • Define standards for API design, service communication, data flow, event-driven patterns, and security. • Evaluate modern tools and technologies to enhance system scalability, resilience, and observability. Core Engineering & Delivery • Design and build RESTful APIs, backend services, and event-driven applications. • Develop and maintain microservices hosted on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, SQS/SNS). • Ensure high performance, scalability, and fault tolerance across distributed systems. • Guide implementation of API Gateway (Kong preferred), service mesh, and integration frameworks.
